Susan Kramer

Vermont made Pottery since 1997

Susan Kramer has been making colorful, functional pottery for decades. Her work is influenced by places she has traveled, taking inspiration from local motifs and surroundings. Influences can also be found from 20th century modernist painters. She uses traditional wheel throwing techniques learned while studying in Japan during the mid-eighties. As part of her natural evolution as an artist, she has incorporated hand-building techniques and styles into her line of usable pots.

Date: April 3. 2020

The novel coronavirus has affected all parts of our globe including the small towns and villages of Vermont. Here in the relative remote areas, things are quiet, not uncommon for Spring and mud-season. Typically the ski resorts would be planning end of season festivities. My hope is that by mid-June, we as a global community will have slowed down the transmission and we'll be able to congregate, at least in the outdoors. On that note, I do hope to see you at the Londonderry Farmer's Market. If you'd like to contact me before then please don't hesitate. I'll certainly be working in the studio.

Until then, be healthy and keep your loved ones healthy too.

From 2019, new work.

I love the simplicity of these pitchers.

Classic and modern. Sweet and sleek.

$28 for the small ones

$38 for the larger one

$25 Dinner sized ski plate

If you'd like one or more please email me with your request:

Check out these short videos of this season's (2019) first throwing session.

Funky Functional Fun!

The ceramic work of Susan Kramer brightens any living space. Large pitchers are hand formed using a variety of techniques, melding texture and color into unified forms. Coffee mugs decorated with the colors of the rainbow make that first sip even more delightful.

Feel free to wander the pages of the site and check back often, as new work is continually uploaded from May through October.

Contact me via email or stop by the West River Farmer's Market in Londonderry Vermont (from Memorial Day through Columbus Day).

If you're looking to add to your own collection or to start someone else's please email me at and I'd love to work on your idea.
